Jeremy Withers is the monkey in the henhouse, the sand in the gears, and the distortion in the audio. For the past eight years, he’s insisted on being credited with both bass and fuzz, so it’s little surprise that he’s obsessed with stringing little boxes along his signal chain to make his bass sound like anything but.
For the gearheads out there, Jeremy mostly plays a tweaked-up American-made Fender Jazz bass, but his other instruments include a Synsonics “guit-bass,” a Paukert-ized custom Flying V bass and a Rickenbacker 4001. These are then channeled through an assortment of effects including (but not limited to): an Akai Hexacomp, Electro-Harmonix Bass Miocrosynth, EHX POG2, ProCo Turbo Rat, Malekko B:Assmaster, Devi Ever Cherry Pop, Devi Ever US, Mellowtone Wolf Computer, B Sharp Grim Rimmer, EHX Holy Stain, EHX Flanger Hoax, Korg Kaoss Pad 2, and Line 6 Bass Pod.
